The dream of the first international title with PSV Eindhoven has burst for Mario Götze.
The top Dutch club lost 2-1 (1-0) in the second leg of the Conference League quarterfinals to Leicester City. After the 0-0 draw in the first leg, the former English champions will meet AS Roma in the semi-finals, who clearly won 4-0 (3-0) against Bodö/Glimt from Norway.
Eindhoven’s league rival Feyenoord Rotterdam is also in the semifinals. The Dutch won 3-1 (1-1) at Slavia Prague. In the first leg, the teams had separated 3:3. The round of the last four is completed by Olympique Marseille, who also won their second duel with the Greeks in a 1-0 (1-0) win at PAOK Saloniki (first leg: 2-1).
Götze prepared the opening goal for the hosts through Eran Zahavi (27th). But James Maddison (77th) and Ricardo Pereira (88th) turned the encounter. The semi-finals will take place on April 28th and May 5th.
