Any idea how many speeding fines will be issued throughout the Netherlands in 2021? Nearly 6.7 million! It was also regularly hit in Zoetermeer. Independer has analyzed the data from the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) for this.

Most speeding violations were in Stichtse Vecht in 2021, followed by Rotterdam, Haarlemmermeer, Utrecht and Amsterdam. These five municipalities together accounted for a quarter of all speeding fines in the Netherlands last year.
Number of fines in Zoetermeer
Although Zoetermeer is not in the top five, motorists have also been caught speeding here. In total, this concerns 9,269 speeding violations. Compared to surrounding municipalities, far fewer fines have been handed out in our city. 126,044 speeding violations have been registered in The Hague. In Leidschendam-Voorburg no fewer than 200,943! In the neighborhood municipality of Pijnacker Nootdorp, ‘only’ 366 speeding violations have been committed.

Much less than in 2020
If you compare the number of speeding fines in Zoetermeer with that of 2020, it is noticeable that we committed far fewer speeding offenses in Zoetermeer. Compared to 2020, we committed 2,762 fewer speeding violations in 2021. That’s a drop of 22.96 percent. A decrease of 9,310 (6.88 percent) can be seen in The Hague and a huge increase of 203 (124.54 percent) in Pijnacker Nootdorp.
