BNR Nieuwsradio recently sent an anonymous video to Coldeweijer, in which the impression was created that Muusse was sniffing coke. The gossip vlogger did inquire with Muusse, but shared the video despite the former’s denial. On 1presenter a day later with the followers in her paid Telegram group. Coldeweijer did, however, have a blow to the arm by stating that the video might be fake.
According to BNR, the number of followers of Coldeweijer’s paid channel increased by almost a hundred members, who pay ten euros every month to see ‘exclusive’ videos that are not shown on the free channel.
‘Just juice’
In a reaction to the staged video, Coldeweijer tells the news channel that she is ‘not some investigative journalist’. “I’m just a juice channel. If I get a video of someone sniffing, I’ll just post it! It’s just juice. That’s it.”
With their campaign, Muusse and BNR wanted to show how such juice channels work, according to the radio station’s website. The reason for the investigation is the ruling in summary proceedings that singer Samantha Steenwijk had filed against Coldeweijer a few weeks ago. The judge then ruled that the vlogger – who did invoke ‘journalistic source protection’ – had too little evidence to state that Steenwijk had lost weight using ‘illegal diet pills’ and ordered her to be rectified.
