Gorillaz Announce New Album CRACKER ISLAND And Release “New Gold”

Gorillaz are back with a new album: CRACKER ISLAND is due out on February 24th, 2023. Pre-orders are now here possible. Parallel to the announcement, the single “New Gold” was released on August 31st.

It is the eighth studio album by the animation band. For a first taste of what’s to come, they released the single “New Gold” in collaboration with Tame Impala and rapper Bootie Brown. CRACKER ISLAND will also feature other artists such as Thundercat, Stevie Nicks, Adeleye Omotayo, Bad Bunny and Beck. The work will be available in standard, deluxe and limited edition formats.

The Last Cult

The Gorillaz already heralded the new era with their single “Cracker Island”, which will introduce the upcoming album. In addition, “Consequence” reports that the band itself is also in a dynamic development phase. A press release said: “The world’s largest virtual band has relocated to Silverlake, California, where it has been found that the answer to life’s question – the only truth that will fix the world – is this , inviting fans to join ‘The Last Cult'”.

The Last Cult is a religious organization founded by the Gorillaz. During her time in Los Angeles 2022, Murdoc became increasingly interested in the occult. In July he founded the cult and became its leader. Fans can join by entering their email address on the official website of The Last Cult specify. In an Instagram post, the band appealed to fans to become part of the organization. They wrote: “A new era is dawning! Light the beacons of truth and join us.”
