It is currently the biggest mystery in Dutch showbiz: why was Gordon dumped by Gavin Rozario? What’s behind their engagement tragedy? How is it possible that the TV millionaire returned to his hometown of Dubai after less than 24 hours in Melbourne? In any case, there is one person who knows: Yvonne Coldeweijer.

Romantic rocket

Yvonne, who has had a good relationship with Gordon for quite some time, has never actually believed in his romance with Gavin. Their love affair was a kind of romantic rocket: just a few weeks after their first meeting, they were engaged. “I didn’t trust that. I’m suspicious then, so I didn’t go along with that joy.”

It is clear that Gordon viewed everything through rose-colored glasses. How Yvonne saw that? With a grain of salt. She talks in her podcast The Juice Show: “I actually just see a little boy on TV who then says in an interview with such a program: ‘Yes, I’m so happy and everyone says I’m so radiant!’ And you can really see that.”

Disaster tourists

Yvonne herself is someone who is wary and seasoned. “You would think that Corrie would be, but no. He’s just someone who throws himself into relationships, but almost into some sort of abyss.”

Co-host Mark Koster: “And we are the disaster tourists.”

Yvonne: “Yes, but we are also made that, aren’t we, by him? We all have to watch how he jumps into the ravine there. That is basically what it is.”

What is the reason?

Then on to the most important question: what caused this engagement fiasco? Yvonne knows. “I promised Corrie that I would not share the reason, but I can say: it is not one juicy rode. It sounds more like a kind of excuse that was used.”

According to Evert Santegoeds, Gordon was suddenly ‘ghosted’ by this guy. That theory has also been extensively discussed by RTL Boulevard, but that story does not of course match Yvonne’s statement that the reason is not ‘juicy’ at all.

Boring reason

Yvonne seems to point to a somewhat boring reason. “The last time Gordon had a break-up it was a bit juicier, wasn’t it. Remember that Jeffrey?”

Mark: “Jeffrey turned out not to be quite right in his head and it was also a fight.”

Yvonne: “That, you know, is of course even worse. Then this is better, then this is less juicy I think. Anyway, it is very bad for Corrie.”
