Gordon responds for the first time to the harsh criticism that Arjen Lubach has leveled at him. The SBS 6 star seems completely unimpressed. He thinks that people are ‘talking all over again’.
In 2023 it seems to be no longer possible: ‘down entertainment’, entertainment program about people with Down syndrome. The discussion was started by debate expert Lars Duursma, who has a brother with Down. His substantive objections have made it to an item in Arjen Lubach’s very popular TV show.
Gordon responds
Arjen has completely made mincemeat of Gordon and his program Down the Road, but also of the promotional tour that the entertainer held for this show. He expressed a rather curious wish on three different programs: “If only everyone had a little Down.”
Critics think it’s extremely inappropriate, but Gordon shrugs it off. He just cheerfully posts a promo from Down the Road on Instagram today. “Whatever they all l*ll again: conveying my own life lessons to these young adult people with Down is priceless!”

Many followers support Gordon. “It is a beautiful program, you are very loving and real. I am touched every time, thank you,” says Bianca, for example.
But there is also criticism, for example from Gijs. “I’m sure you make it sincere, but do you understand what the criticism is? That there is also a very big downside and that only a very small part of people with Down can function in society in this way?”
