Gordon does not like that John de Mol has not approached him for the jury of the television flop Avastars, thinks Privé editor-in-chief Evert Santegoeds. “It was a big frustration.”

John de Mol has announced the television show Avastars with a lot of fanfare. The program in which digital dolls compete against each other for who can sing and dance best started last Friday evening and unfortunately turned out to be a mega flop. And that is, of course, pretty sad for everyone involved.

Letdown

It also put a damper on judges Nick & Simon, Nicky Romero and Dan Karaty. Prior to the first episode, Nicky posted another proud one post on Instagram. It is striking that SBS 6 star Gordon has a rather curious reaction below posted: “Great white man show ?.”

Bland, thinks Privé editor-in-chief and Avastars ambassador Evert Santegoeds. He says in the podcast Strictly Private: “If you look at the jury, they are all white men indeed. But I find it such a letdown to put that under the text of Ricky Romero, who is very proud of that program.”

Jealousy

It’s probably jealousy, says Evert. “Gordon is known to love being on juries. He would have wanted that with The Voice Senior and stuff. And I think it’s one big frustration that he wasn’t asked to do it himself. Although the jury would not necessarily have become less white if he was in it.”

For the time being, Gordon is very busy displaying his new love happiness. “It has always been that way and it would not change. And we will follow it with interest.”
