Gooise serval found; doesn’t want to get out of the tree yet

The serval that has been searched for for almost two months has been found in Museumlaan in Huizen. From a tree he looks down at the people who want to catch him.

Since October 22, the search for the exotic feline has been intense. Game cameras, trap cages and fresh chicken have not had the desired results so far. At the beginning of November, the search was even stopped and moved to the Westerheide near Hilversum. Now the animal has been found after all: last night it was spotted in a tree in Huizen.

Not caught yet

The Beestenbende Foundation from Zevenbergen provides shelter for exotic animals and the fire brigade tries to capture the animal. The serval crawls further and further into the tree, out of reach of the fire brigade. Cameras have now been installed to keep an eye on the animal. The serval is left alone for the foreseeable future in the hope that it will come down because it is getting hungry.
