Google Maps now also shows Belgian buildings in “Immersive View” | Interior

Google has added a number of iconic buildings in Brussels and Bruges to its new tool ‘Immersive View’, in which the internet giant offers a 3D view of buildings and cities in Google Maps via artificial intelligence. The company reports that.

Google had started rolling out ‘Immersive View’ in February for a number of major cities such as London, Los Angeles and Tokyo. From now on, a number of Belgian attractions can also be viewed multidimensionally in the Google Maps app. The feature seems to be especially useful for tourists.

It concerns eight buildings in Brussels and Bruges. Enthusiasts can visit the Belfry and Church of Our Lady in Bruges and Manneken Pis and the Atomium in Brussels, among others.

Google wants to offer a new way to explore a place and give the Maps user the feeling of really being there with ‘Immersive View’, which it translates into Dutch as ‘immersive view’.

The internet giant combines its many Street View photos and aerial images into a 3D model with the help of artificial intelligence, and adds information such as the weather forecast and the expected crowds in a place.
