Blake Lemoine was fired for violating company information security rules with these statements. “It is regrettable that, despite long-standing involvement in this subject, Blake still chooses to persistently violate the employment and data security policies necessary to protect product information,” a Google spokesperson told Reuters news agency.
The program, LaMDA, uses large amounts of user data to generate ‘human’ responses to user requests. Lemoine told the Washington Post that the program is a self-aware person after testing its ability to discriminate and incite hate.
In April, he sent a document to the top of Google entitled “Is LaMDA Self-Aware?”. The document contained conversations he had with the algorithm. The claim made him famous within his field within a short time, the FD writes.
Since his resignation, Lemoine has wanted to start his own company in the field of artificial intelligence. He has worked at Google for seven years.
