Google brings high-speed internet to West Africa with submarine cable connecting Portugal to South Africa

Google has connected Togo to the worldwide cable network in oceans via a submarine cable. It is the first country in West Africa where Google makes fast internet possible in this way. Once operational, the cable will offer twenty times more bandwidth than any other country in the region, according to previous research commissioned by the American tech giant. The cable should also provide tens of thousands of jobs.
