The women around Skip Mia Höhne started with an 11:8 win against Italy, before a 3:9 win against Estonia in the evening.
For the German men around Sixten Totzek, for whom this is his fifth European Championship participation, there was only one encounter at the start. Against Finland there was a 7:5.
