The short trackers of the new national coach Niels Kerstholt have started well at the World Cup competition in Montreal, Canada. Suzanne Schulting, for example, qualified for the quarter-finals at the 1000 meters and the semi-finals at the 1500 meters. Sjinkie Knegt reached the semifinals of the 1500 meters and the quarterfinals of the 1000 meters.
In addition to Schulting and Knegt, Selma Poutsma, Rianne de Vries, Bram Steenaard and Friso Emons also reached the semi-finals in the 1500 meters. Just like the finals on Saturday, these are on the program.
Xandra and Michelle Velzeboer reached the quarterfinals in the 500 and 1000 meters, which will be held twice in the weekend. Yara van Kerkhof reached the quarterfinals in both matches in the 1000 meters.
The short trackers also qualified for the semi-finals on the mixed relay and the 5000 meter relay for the men. Both times the Dutch team won the heat.
