Good general Hoogeveen: Emmen deeper in relegation worries

FOOTBALL – Hoogeveen had a good general for next Sunday’s top match against Be Quick 1887. The team of trainer Nico Haak won the make-up game in Sunday’s main division A 3-0 at the amateurs of Emmen. The team of trainer Kevin Waalderbos is concerned about relegation.

Emmen remains next to last, while Hoogeveen takes the lead again from Be Quick, after last Sunday’s defeat against RKAVV. The difference between the two teams is two points after 17 of the 28 games.

Strong start

Hoogeveen started the game strongly and soon had a good chance, but Joost Screever missed after a good play by Noah Schuurman. On the other hand, Levon van Dijk let Emmen striker Jan Jaap Wever walk out of his back, but this opportunity was also missed. After eighteen minutes it was hit. Tom Heerkes was sent in at the right time and the midfielder shot the 0-1 dry behind Emmen goalkeeper Jehovah Mendes.

Ten minutes later Emmen had bad luck. Driess-Jan Bal’s shot hit the crossbar. On the other hand, Belteau was close to 0-2.

On the stroke of half-time, Raphael Ngendakumana determined the halftime score at 0-2. The striker was there like the chickens on a too short pass back by Olivier Cremers.

less sparkling

The second half was less sparkling than the first. After more than an hour of play, Screever determined the final score at 0-3 from a beautiful free kick. Kjelt Engbers saw his penalty kick stopped by Mendes, but Hoogeveen’s victory was never in danger.

On Sunday, Hoogeveen will play the top match against the number two, Be Quick 1887 in Haren. A summary of this match can be seen in Our Club. Emmen receives Alcides from Meppel that same afternoon.
