Golf superstar Tiger Woods has to postpone his comeback and will not tee off at the PGA Championship (from May 18) in Rochester / New York. This emerges from the official list of participants of the major event, which the organizers published on Wednesday.
Just over a month ago, Woods underwent another operation on his lower right leg, which was injured in a car accident. He underwent a “fusion procedure” below the ankle joint to “treat post-traumatic arthritis following his previous fracture of the talus.” The 15-time major winner had previously dropped out at the US Masters in Augusta in early April.
Since his serious car accident in February 2021 near Los Angeles, Woods has only participated in five tournaments. Most recently, he had repeatedly emphasized that he only wanted to take part in the four majors and two or three other tournaments a year.
