The sport of golf mourns the loss of Bart Bryant. The three-time tournament champion on the PGA Tour died in a car accident. The American high-flyer once outclassed Tiger Woods.
Golf star Bart Bryant is dead. This was confirmed by the umbrella organization PGA. The three-time Tour tournament winner died in a car accident. “The PGA Tour is saddened by the tragic passing of Bart Bryant. Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan in a statement. Bryant was 59 years old.
Bryant’s performance at the 2005 Tour Championships in Atlanta will never be forgotten. Back then, “Dr. Dirt”, as the Texan was called on the PGA Tour, outclassed golf high-flyer Tiger Woods and won the tournament by six shots. Woods has never finished second by a greater margin.
Bryant leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
