Goldband singer Milo Driessen is Headpiece of the week.
Last Saturday, the popular Hague pop group Goldband won the Popprijs 2022, awarded during the Noorderslag festival in Groningen. The jury called Goldband “the great sensation at summer festivals and the epitome of the post-corona era in live music.”
Afterwards, it was not so much about the “strong compositions with their own sound” (jury), but about a video showing Goldband singer Milo Driessen sniffing a line of coke during a performance. Everyone had an opinion about it. Even Justice and Security Minister Dylan Yesilgöz was ashamed of it.
At 3FM Driessen promised that he would never do it again. At the talk show table of Khalid & Sophie, he called the fuss about the snuff film narrow: “I think it is older than the Bible that people use mind-altering drugs.”
