Who lost their gold ring? Danny has had that question for more than half a year now. Last December he found a ring at a playground in Best, but he has not been able to find the owner so far.
On Boxing Day, Danny and his girlfriend walked along the playground between Professor R. Regoutstraat and Loek Verspelenstraat in Best. They were walking the dog in the twilight, when his girlfriend suddenly saw something glittering in the grass.
“We immediately saw that it was not a toy.”
It turned out to be a gold ring with diamonds. The inside of the ring is inscribed with a wedding date and initials. “We immediately saw that it was not a toy,” says Danny. “That’s why we took the ring home.”
He immediately posted a message on Facebook. Danny: “I quickly received several reactions from people who lost a ring and thought it was their ring.” He checked the inscription on everyone who messaged him. But a match? He hasn’t found it yet.
“If I don’t find the owner now, I’ll let it go.”
Danny has had the ring for more than half a year now. That is why he is trying one more time this week to find the owner with a message on Facebook. “This time I also shared a photo of the ring. But I blurred the inscription, so that I can still check if the ring really belongs to someone when I comment.”
This time too, unfortunately, the message does not yield much. So there’s only one thing left for him to do. Danny: “If I don’t find the owner now, I’ll take the ring to the council and let it go.”
