Jen Lee won gold with his team in ice hockey at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Paralympics. But now the para athlete’s car has been broken into, all the medals have been stolen – he is asking for help.
Jen Lee is an American para-athlete who won gold with the ice hockey team at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. But now these medals have been stolen from his car, as the para ice hockey player announced on his social networks.
A stranger, clearly visible in the video Lee shared, forced open the door and smashed the glass, stealing the bag containing the precious metal. Sled hockey player Lee wrote on Twitter: “Today around 7:15 p.m. at The Rim (a mall, Note d. editor) in San Antonio, TX, my car was broken into by this guy and he took the bag with all three of my Paralympic gold medals. I’m asking for help to get her back.”
All athletes pledged their support
Within three hours of posting the tweet, the video had been shared more than 3,000 times. In addition, all users took screenshots of the person’s face and published this image in turn to identify the perpetrator.
There was also support from other athletes. Para-alpine athlete Tyler Carter wrote under the post: “Brother, I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m sharing and sending you positive energy.” In addition, former US ice hockey player Julie Chu wrote: “I’m so sorry, let’s hope this video puts the culprit.” So far there is no information as to whether there are already initial clues to the perpetrator.
