On the penultimate day of the European Athletics Championships, Lieke Klaver and Lisanne de Witte from North Holland won the gold medal in the 4×400 meters. With the unleashed Femke Bol and Eveline Saalberg, the foursome ran to a new Dutch record: 3 minutes and 20.87 seconds.
The day before, Klaver had finished just outside the medals in the 200 meters. The Enkhuizense then had to settle for fifth place. She had previously finished sixth in the 400 meters.
In the relay team she came into action as the second runner and, on her 24th birthday, she ran a strong lap. She passed the baton to Lisanne de Witte. The athlete from Heiloo had a difficult time, but passed the baton in third position to Bol who then overtook Poland and Great Britain in the last lap.

No honorary metal for men
The Dutch relay men finished fifth. Great Britain took the gold . In the final, the team consisted of Isayah Broers (Amsterdam), Jochem Dobber (Santpoort-South), Liemarvin Bonevacia and Ramsey Angela.
