If the emergency is high – say spring tide – is a shop or café owner obliged to let you go to the toilet for free? And what if you have a chronic problem? According to Flemish Member of Parliament Katrien Schryvers (CD&V), there is too little attention for public toilets in Flanders, so she is launching an all-encompassing toilet plan. There is no shortage of remarkable proposals: “We advocate a uniform toilet pass.”
