Busy times for Sinterklaas and his entourage. After the Goed Heiligeman arrived in the fortified city of Gorinchem, he headed towards Winschoten, where he was welcomed at the Havenkade by enthusiastic children, their parents and mayor Cora-Yfke Sikkema of the municipality of Oldambt.
After the reception, accompanied by the Scheemder music association Prins Hendrik, numerous Pieten, the Pakjesexpres and the Pepernotenfabriek, a tour in a carriage pulled by impressive horses was made through the city center, after which we headed to the party stage next to HEMA.
While waiting for the arrival of Saint Nicholas, the Pieten and Mayor Sikkema, those present there were treated to the program ‘Aladin and the missing miter’. As always, everything was managed smoothly by the Oldambt Activities Foundation.
Unfortunately the weather didn’t really cooperate, but that didn’t spoil the fun.
