Godelieve celebrates 108th (!) birthday

By the way, the good genes run in the family, because her brother Gerard from Diksmuide is 100 years old. Two years ago, Godelieve survived a corona infection. And since then the health has been excellent again. “You can’t do anything about that. The best thing is not to eat too much, not to drink too much and work a lot. And then you can handle anything. Although, a farm, you have a lot of work, don’t you. And you have to do everything, hey. You have to help each other. And the best thing about getting old is getting along well,” explains Godelieve Voet.

Clearly there is no wear on the memory. She recognizes everyone immediately and doesn’t mince words. In 2017, Godelieve took off in a hot air balloon. “I would like to go up in the air with that balloon,” it sounds.

Danny Cool is her grandson: “We have always taken care of each other. When I was younger and smaller, she was there for me. She’s older now, weaker and I’m here for her now. And I am very grateful for that.”
