National goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has returned to team training at FC Barcelona after the back injury he suffered last autumn.
“Back with the team“, wrote the 31-year-old from FC Barcelona on Monday evening about two photos on the X platform. In the pictures, ter Stegen can be seen in a Barca training kit, with gloves in his hand and with a ball on his foot.
Almost two weeks ago he shared a photo in training clothes and announced that he could train again.
Ter Stegen is again an option for international matches in March
Ter Stegen had to undergo an operation at the end of last year. The goalkeeper also missed the DFB team’s two test matches in November against Turkey (2:3) and in Austria (0:2) because of back problems.
He could now be fit again for the upcoming games in France and against the Netherlands in March – although long-time number one Manuel Neuer should then return to the DFB squad for the first time in over a year. National coach Julian Nagelsmann is therefore faced with the decision as to which goalkeeper will be preferred with a view to the home European Championships in the summer.
