Goalkeeper shirts Andries Noppert readily sold

The goalkeeper shirts of SC Heerenveen are sold quickly. That has everything to do with the success of goalkeeper Andries Noppert, who impressed on his debut in Orange on Monday. It is not known how many shirts have been sold. The shirts will be available again in two weeks.

“The orange goalkeeper shirts are sold out, but the new delivery is on its way!” SC Heerenveen posted on Twitter. The Frisian club took over Noppert, who also enjoyed his training in Heerenveen, from competitor Go Ahead Eagles last summer.

To the surprise of many, 28-year-old Noppert was promoted by national coach Louis van Gaal to first keeper of the Dutch national team. On Monday, he made a number of crucial saves against Senegal.

SC Heerenveen already reported on Monday that the stadium would close an hour earlier. “Due to the possible debut of Andries Noppert, the staff will be in front of the television at 5 p.m.,” said the club.
