Kjell Scherpen has been included in the selection of the Dutch national team by national coach Louis van Gaal. He replaces Tim Krul, who was injured during a training session on Sunday and has since left the group.
The 22-year-old Scherpen is transferred from the Dutch Juniors, with which he was preparing for the European Championship qualifiers against Gibraltar and Wales. The goalkeeper of the English Brighton & Hove Albion is already training on Monday.
Scherpen has fifteen duels for the Dutch Juniors to his name. The former goalkeeper of Ajax and FC Emmen has never played for the ‘big’ Orange. The Dutch national team will play against Poland and twice against Wales this international period.
