Jordi Masip arrived at Pucela in the summer of 2017 after more than a decade in the FC Barcelona academy
The goalkeeper has already accumulated 166 official matches with the blanquivioleta elastic
Goalkeeper Jordi Masip will continue to defend Real Valladolid’s goal for two more seasons, until June 30, 2024, following the renewal agreement reached between both parties and which the club reported this Wednesday.
Masip arrived in Valladolid in the summer of 2017 after more than a decade at FC Barcelona, in whose lower categories he trained until reaching the first team.As a blanquivioleta, he enjoyed promotion to the elite in his first season (2017/2018), consolidated himself in the First Division as a starter during the following three (2018-2021), in the last of which he experienced the drink of relegation, and has just return with the team to the highest category (2021/2022).
The five seasons as a blanquivioleta that Masip has accumulated have made him more than a centenarian, with 166 official matches between the First, Second, Copa del Rey and promotion playoffs, which make the goalkeeper the second player in the current squad with the most matches played.
In the absence of a week for the medical examination and return to training, on July 6, Real Valladolid has not renewed three players leaving the club: defenders Nacho and Kiko Olivas, and midfielder Pablo Hervías.
He has loaned defender Saidy Janko to Bochum in the Bundesliga, has transferred midfielder Alcaraz to Cádiz and has bought Monchu and Iván Sánchez, two midfield players who came on loan last season in the second round of the league, the first of the Granada and the second of the English Birmingham.
