Goalkeeper Lize Kop is looking for a new challenge and is leaving Ajax Women

Lize Kop will leave Ajax Women after six seasons. The Amsterdam formation must therefore look for a new first goalkeeper. Last season, the Wormer-born Kop won the national title with Ajax.

Kop has been part of the Ajax selection since the 2016/2017 season. Over time, the 25-year-old goalkeeper became the first choice under the crossbar, despite the fact that she often had to contend with injuries.

In her six years with the club, Kop won three national titles, four KNVB cups and one Eredivisie Cup. Kop grew into an international for Orange and is part of the selection that is now preparing for the World Cup in New Zealand.

New incentives

“I am leaving Ajax with pain in my heart. I spent seven seasons at the club, where I experienced many great moments,” says Kop on the Ajax website. “But I think my own career is ready for a new step. Getting new incentives, new challenges, I’m really looking forward to that.”

It is not yet known where Klop will play next season.
