Goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow has also personally benefited from the successes with Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin.

“I just enjoy being in goal and I have the feeling that I can hold every ball,” said the 30-year-old in an interview with the “Tagesspiegel” (Saturday). It wasn’t always easy for him in Germany, “but I also feel free because of these bad times,” said Rönnow.

Although he always had great confidence in himself, he now plays “without pressure”. However, Rönnow still sees room for improvement in his performance as a leader. “I always take on more responsibility on the pitch. But I also know that I can give and talk a little more off the pitch,” said the Dane. He pointed out that he did not yet feel so confident in German.

In his opinion, he has already achieved a great deal with Union Berlin. The team, which is currently third in the Bundesliga and unbeaten in 20 home games, still does not want to talk about the Champions League. “The anthem was certainly played in the dressing room, but that was really just for fun,” said Rönnow.
