HIFK, which plays in the Veikkausliiga, is informedthat the club and the goalkeeper Beto Pimparel have terminated their contract by mutual consent.
– Termination of the contract was jointly agreed between the different parties on Monday. We would like to thank Beto for his contribution in the first half of the season and wish him luck in the future, CEO of HIFK Jarno Salmivuori told.
Before HIFK’s announcement, Beto posted a video on Instagram in which he was on a plane on his way home.
– Beto brought much-needed color to the Veikkausliiga fields and showed why his merit list is convincing. Despite Beto’s departure, we believe that we will not fall into the goalkeeper game in the future, Salmivuori continued.
40-year-old Beto signed a comprehensive contract with HIFK last February. The goalkeeper managed to play 12 league matches in HIFK.
In his last HIFK match, Beto received a straight red card when he jumped ahead of the buttons towards a player from the opposing team Ilves.
Beto’s days in the Veikkausliiga were quite tough, as he was part of Portugal’s World Cup team in 2010, 2014 and 2018.
HIFK, which is in financial difficulties, is last in the Veikkausliiga.
