^BRUSSELS, Dec. 19, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — European Bioplastics (EUBP) welcomed

the adoption of the ambitious EU regulation on packaging and

Packaging waste (PPWR). The adoption by the council on December 16th is

the last step in the codecision procedure before it comes into force.

The PPWR places particular emphasis on sustainable packaging solutions,

with bio-based plastics playing a key role in achieving EU

Goals related to circular economy and climate neutrality play.

“Bio-based plastics will play a crucial role in the reduction
