GmbH and Marine Serre at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in January

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), the governing body of the French fashion industry, has announced the provisional calendar for the upcoming Paris Fashion Week for men from January 16th to 21st.

The official program includes 74 fashion houses that will present their fall/winter 2024 collections in 42 catwalk shows and 32 presentations. The event opens on January 16th with the fashion show of Turkish-French couturier and LMVH Prize finalist Burç Akyol at 4:30 p.m. and ends on January 21st at 7:00 p.m. with Berliner Modemarke GmbH, which returns to Paris Fashion Week after a break.

French luxury brand Balmain and Italian fashion house Valentino are also on the event’s tentative schedule. After the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, they are scheduled to return to the Paris catwalk for the first time in January with separate men’s collections. Most recently, Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli chose Milan as the location for his men’s fashion shows.

Another highlight promises to be the presentation of the third collection by Louis Vuitton creative director Pharrell Williams on January 16th. Also the first collection of the French luxury fashion brand Givenchy on January 17th after Departure of their creative director Matthew M. Williams is eagerly awaited.

Four fashion houses will also make their debut on the runway. These include the US label Winnie New York, nominated for the LVMH Prize 2022, by designer Idris Balogun, who honed his craft under Christopher Bailey at Burberry. Winnie New York will be shown on January 21st.

Shanghai-based brand Ziggy Chen will also present its collection on January 21, and Japanese fashion house Auralee, founded in 2015 by Ryota Iwai, will present its Fall/Winter 2024 men’s collection on January 16.

The French fashion designer Marine Serre is also showing a separate men’s collection in Paris for the first time in January. To date, it has only been part of the Paris Fashion Week for women.

Three young brands are making their debut in Paris. These include designer Arthur Robert’s French label Ouest Paris, Paris-based Meta Campania Collective and Kartik Research, founded in New Delhi, India in 2021 by LVMH Prize semi-finalist Kartik Kumra.

Other brands set to showcase their Fall/Winter 2024 collections in January include British labels Paul Smith and Wales Bonner, Japanese fashion houses Kenzo, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Junya Watanabe, Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, the French fashion brands Ami by Alexandre Mattiussi, Comme des Garçons, Hermès and Dior, as well as the US fashion designer Rick Owens and the Spanish fashion house Loewe.
