Gloria Grandi (Ferilli) is a middle-aged actress, who became popular above all for her role as Doctor Palazzo, protagonist of a TV series. People stop her to ask her for suggestions on medicines to take for her daughter, the sick mother or wife. The actress can’t take it anymore. She wants to return to working for the big screen and so she gives up the fifth season of the fiction. Five years later we find her on the set of an advertisement for snail slime creams, suitable for the face of menopausal women.

Gloria leaves the set for the umpteenth time. Manlius (Massimo Ghini), the agent of a lifetime, and Iole (Emanuela Grimalda), the trusted assistant, try to do something to help the actress in crisis. «Tomorrow I’ll call Ferzan», Gloria says to her. Then Manlio organizes a fake audition for her for Sergio Rubini’s new film, when in reality the director has already decided to cast her in the leading role Monica Bellucci. When the actress finds out she goes into a rage with the agent and faints in the middle of the street. A chest x-ray shows a small spot that could hide something serious. The doctor suggests a CT scan. After the result Gloria is desperate, they gave her six months to live. With her at home there are Iole and Manlio who don’t know how to help her.
