Globetrotter sets up a repair workshop in the Hamburg headquarters

The outdoor outfitter Globetrotter Geräte GmbH will in future also be offering a repair service to the customers of its parent company in the Hamburg district of Barmbek. From July 2nd, in a newly set up workshop, “clothing such as outdoor jackets, hiking pants, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks and cookers will be repaired directly on site by trained employees,” the company announced on Tuesday. In addition, as part of its “Care & Repair” concept, Globetrotter will also be offering “numerous services for optimal care” there, including the professional washing of sleeping bags and the impregnation of rainwear.

“With our offer, we help our customers to use cherished pieces of equipment, which are often associated with unforgettable experiences, for longer,” explained retail manager Ulrich Gumz in a statement. “If everyone had to buy the special tools they need to repair and maintain their equipment themselves, that wouldn’t be sustainable either. Apart from that, a professional repair requires manual skills and the corresponding know-how. And our experts have plenty of that.”

Globetrotter opened its first workshop in 2018 in the Dresden store. With the opening in Hamburg, the company expands the repair service to 14 of the 22 branches. In recent years, the outdoor outfitter has also expanded the second-hand trade as part of its sustainability concept and started a rental service.
