Kylian Mbappé (25), Erling Haaland (23) and recently Jude Bellingham (20) are the three most valuable footballers with a market value of 180 million euros. The star striker from Paris Saint-Germain in particular will keep the transfer market busy in the coming weeks and months, as his contract expires next summer. From January 1st, Mbappé can officially hold negotiations with interested clubs and also sign a new contract with another club – without having to take his current employer into account.

However, Mbappé will not be available for what is supposed to be free, because well-known players – not just of his size – usually demand a considerable amount of money for their free transfer signature. There have been rumors surrounding the French world champion at Real Madrid for years. In 2022, a move to the “Royals” was considered a foregone conclusion before PSG celebrated the contract extension. In the course of this, however, he had a clause included that only he had the option to extend his working paper by another year until 2025. When Mbappé then informed Paris in writing that he would not do this, there was great outrage because a free transfer was out of the question. This was followed last summer by a temporary exclusion from training and increased pressure on the PSG record goalscorer, but Mbappé stayed and now has everything in his own hands.

Should a move occur, the Paris native would set new records in terms of both the most valuable transfer and the most valuable free transfer in history. In the former statistic, Eden Hazard and Erling Haaland are currently in the lead with 150 million euros each, in the latter, Mbappé would far behind his former teammate Lionel Messi, who came to PSG in 2021/22 with a market value of 80 million euros.

Adrien Rabiot (28), who is in 13th place in this ranking, is also familiar with free transfers – and PSG was involved again. In 2019, the midfielder, then valued at 35 million euros, left the French capital for Juventus Turin. Now, like last year, the Frenchman, who is now valued at 40 million euros, is faced with the decision: extend or change. The left-footer is not yet in the cards. “An extension? “We’ll talk about that later,” he said a few weeks ago. His mother and advisor Veronique Rabiot echoed the same sentiment: “It’s still too early for that. When the time is right, we will weigh everything up.” A transfer fee has never been paid for Rabiot in his professional career.

After just a year or a year and a half, Daichi Kamada (27) and Jorginho (32) could be on the verge of leaving their clubs Lazio Rome and Arsenal FC again. The ex-Frankfurter was recently one of the big losers in the Serie A update with a loss of 7 million to 20 million euros. “The Japanese has not been convincing at all so far, his market value was probably simply too high and he performed well above his potential at Frankfurt,” stated Jatin Dietl, TM Area Manager Italy. There should be a mutual option for a three-year extension for Kamada and the Romans.

There is also a corresponding clause for the 2021 European champion, Jorginho – for another year. The Italian is not the Gunners’ first choice and has only started four times in the Premier League.

A change is no longer an option for Real Madrid’s midfield strategist, he regularly emphasizes. Kroos is still one of the regulars at the “Royals”, has been on the pitch in every LaLiga game and has the fifth most minutes of play in the Real squad.
