PepsiCo is going to return to Russia under a different brand. Now the company is exploring the possibility of producing its drinks, but under other names.
Instead of Pepsi, there will be New Cola, and instead of Mirinda and 7Up, there will be orange and lemon-lime flavored drinks under the Fruitz brand. This is reported “Kommersant” with a link to a presentation describing a new product.
From the same presentation, it follows that the PepsiCo plant will produce not only kvass under the Russian Gift brand, but also lemonades with various flavors. It is known that the company’s warehouses in Russia have a stock of raw materials for several months and the company is studying options for loading production.
PepsiCo declined to comment.
American PepsiCo announced the suspension of production and sales in Russia amid sanctions and a special operation in Ukraine. However, the restrictions affected only soft drinks. Dairy products and baby food produced by the company remained.
