After her failed performance in the talk show Eva Jinek, Glennis Grace has to give another interview to save her damaged image. At least, that’s what show connoisseur Aran Bade thinks.
The demolished Jumbo stock fillers have received massive support from the Netherlands: Glennis Grace’s career has almost come to a standstill. Almost a year after her misconduct, the country has still not forgiven the singer and her forced sorry interview with Eva Jinek last October did not contribute to this.
Glennis eats oliebol
Show connoisseur Aran Bade finds it striking that Glennis is still a species persona non grata is, he says RTL Boulevard. “I continue to find it baffling that one incident actually shattered her entire image and her career. She was responsible for that herself. Those appearances in the media…”
He mainly refers to the performance at Jinek. “She was with Jinek a week before that session took place and that didn’t do her any good either. A lot of people feel like they still don’t mean saying sorry. (…) If there is anyone with an oliebol on New Year’s Eve like: ‘Let this year be over’, then it’s Glennis.”
Another interview
It will take some time before Glennis is rehabilitated, if at all, says Aran. “I also think for her: image-wise it’s just very complicated. I think she has created a kind of feeling for a lot of people: you don’t mean it, you really have to start pulling it a bit more.”
According to Aran, there will have to be another TV interview. “I think it is a very good first step for her, for example by giving another good interview somewhere and really carrying out that community service with respect. That is also very important.”
Ladies of Soul
The ultimate lifeline for Glennis would be if she is accepted back into the Ladies of Soul, according to Aran. “I think the Ladies of Soul is kind of a key for her, because if she is accepted back into that group, she may be involved again.”
Is that still possible? “I do know that friendships are really broken; there are people like Berget Lewis and Edsilia Rombley who also didn’t know what to do with this anymore.”
Take a rest
Aran wishes Glennis the best for the new year. “It would be a nice moment for her, but it is mainly up to herself. I think she should take a rest first and then pick a good moment to tell another story and then the Ladies of Soul could bloom again for her in 2023.”
