Glennis Grace receives a hard verbal blow from Victor Vlam. The media expert compares the singer’s behavior with that of a ‘heroin h**rtje’. “This is not a diva.”
The aggressive misconduct of Glennis Grace and her thug in an Amsterdam branch of the Jumbo has ended her career in one fell swoop. For a long time there was the idea in the media that it might not be that bad what happened, but during the Jumbo session everything turned out to be much worse than expected.
Sophie Hilbrand
Victor Vlam finds it striking, he says in the podcast The Communicados. “One of the most interesting moments I saw was when Sophie Hilbrand stated in her own talk show: ‘I actually thought it wouldn’t be much.’ She was actually surprised that it was all so bad.”
He continues: “I have to tell you honestly that it’s all a bit worse than I expected, but I expected it to be bad. She also spent three nights in jail and they don’t just do that if there isn’t that much going on.”
Favoritism
Why was the idea for a long time that Glennis’ behavior might have been better than expected? “I think it’s because Yvonne Coldeweijer originally came up with the news. It was one of her big scoops in the early days. Maybe that’s why people thought it was taken out of context, but that turns out not to be the case.”
Glennis also knows a lot of people in the showbiz world. “Call it favoritism. Maybe that’s why they underestimated how bad it all is.”
‘It’s over and out’
In the meantime, according to Victor, one thing is certain: “I think the career of Glennis Grace is just over. If John de Mol comes on screen with a new talent show, he will of course not ask Glennis Grace as a jury member. You just don’t ask her for things like that anymore, because you get a lot of hassle all over you.”
It’s really done for her for a while, says Victor. “The reason I think Glennis Grace is having a hard time getting away with this is because she’s profiled herself as some sort of glamorous diva.”
Heroin h**rtje
After all, Glennis acted as the Ladies of Soul for a long time. “And this is not such lady-like behaviour. This is behavior that you associate more with a heroin hooker than with a real diva shining on stage.”
“I’m not saying that Glennis Grace is, but that’s where you get this behavior… I mean: it’s really very antisocial behaviour, it’s ticklish behaviour, real ticklish behaviour. I think it’s over for her and that’s a good thing.”
