Glennis Grace is furious about the ice-cold way she was received by aid organizations in Ter Apel. She doesn’t understand at all and reacts very pissed off. “What guts!”
Glennis Grace’s visit to the asylum seekers’ center in Ter Apel has not gone down well with everyone. The singer drove there yesterday with seven cars to give all kinds of things to asylum seekers, but was received ice cold on the spot by various aid organizations. She got a big slap on the fingers of the Red Cross.
Glennis under fire
The organization MiGreat, which offers daily help in Ter Apel, is also very annoyed. “Today we saw four groups with cars appear in Ter Apel. Completely uncoordinated they came to hand out and even dump things that are not necessary. Pretty bummed”, they said after Glennis’s visit.
Glennis has thus caused unnecessary unrest, according to the organization. “The consequence? A stressful and tense situation for the people there and mountains of waste, because items that are completely unnecessary are left lying on the field. Distributions of goods in emergency situations require a professional and coordinated approach.”
“What a guts!”
It causes astonishment to Glennis. She’s pissed. “Wow MiGreat, what guts you have! Fortunately, we know better. We were not received that warmly by you. Fortunately, because of the refugees and that’s all that counts. I can say more if I want, but leave it at that. You can never do it right,” she responds on Instagram.
The gratitude of the refugees means a lot to Glennis. “What we saw in Ter Apel is something I will never forget. The degrading situation in which men, women and children find themselves is heartbreaking. My friends and I realize all the more how blessed we are with everything we have.”
humanity
All that luxury can just disappear one day, according to Glennis. “We realize all the more that maybe one day we could end up in the same situation, or our children and or grandchildren.”
She asks the Netherlands for a bit of humanity. “What would you like your fellow man to do? Please ask yourself that question.”
