Glennis Grace apologizes for supermarket incident: “Be guided by maternal instinct”

In a video on Instagram, Glennis Grace says she regrets her actions. The singer is said to have been involved in mistreatment of supermarket staff of the Jumbo on Westerstraat on February 12. “I should have counted to ten.”

“Here I am,” Grace sighs. In the minute-long video, she apologizes for her “impulsive behavior.” “The Jumbo employees, the people I work with and everyone around me who got involved in this. I’m sorry. I should have counted to ten.”

Kicking and hitting

Witnesses reported to AT5/NH Amsterdam a day after the incident that the singer was involved in a violent incident. About a dozen people allegedly walked into the supermarket and started hitting and kicking several employees. Grace was arrested and detained for three days. She, her son and a co-defendant have received a restraining order. They are no longer allowed to go near the supermarket.

Taken out of context

According to Grace, the cases have been “taken out of context.” Still, she should have known better, she says. “My son came home with a bloody face. I was guided by my maternal instinct.” She also says that she has learned from the situation. “I now know how to react and that is often too impulsive.”
