Singer Glennis Grace has offered her “sincere apologies” for the violent incident in which she became involved in a supermarket in Amsterdam at the beginning of February. Grace, in her own words, acted out of maternal instinct and emotion, while she should have counted to ten, she says in a video on Instagram.
The 43-year-old artist was arrested on February 12 after she came to get a story in the supermarket because her son was allegedly attacked. He had lit an electronic cigarette in the store and had been approached about it.
Grace herself, her son and a family friend were arrested when they returned together and it turned into a scuffle. Two more people were later arrested on suspicion of assaulting supermarket employees.
Declaration
“First of all, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to everyone who became involved in this. The employees of Jumbo, the people I work with and everyone around me: I’m sorry,” Grace begins her message. According to the artist, things have been “taken out of context” but she should have known better.
A complaint has been made against the singer, who was detained for three days. She is suspected of public assault and mistreatment in association and with premeditation, the police reported earlier.
