First she pocketed a pair of glasses, then she hit an employee of an optician’s shop with a drink bottle. Now the Berlin police are looking for the woman with photos.
The case happened on April 24, 2023 at around 10 a.m. in an eyewear store on Mariendorfer Damm. According to the police, the suspect first looked at several glasses there.
Then she is said to have stowed one in her bag and left the store – without paying.
An employee noticed the missing glasses, hurried after the woman and confronted her. She refused to open her bag and then hit the clerk with a filled PET bottle.
Finally, the wanted person fled to the Westphalweg underground station and took the underground from the scene of the crime.
This is how the woman is described
- 25 to 30 years old
- about 168 cm tall, strong build
- brown, curly hair, a little over shoulder length
- she spoke German with an accent, probably Southeast European
- she wore a black t-shirt with pink writing on the front, a patterned skirt, gray sneakers and a gray shoulder bag
Investigators are looking for witnesses to the crime and are asking them to come forward. Anyone who knows the woman or has information about her whereabouts should also contact the police.
