Glasses – NRC

A patient sits across from me. I look at her glasses and become fascinated by them. The lenses are invisible. Fifteen minutes later I round off the consultation and ask her: “Would you tell me who your optician is, because I think your glasses are really beautiful, the glasses are so subtle.” She replies: “That’s right, doctor, I’ve had laser surgery, but I can’t get used to a life without glasses. So I just took the glasses out. And that suits me fine.”
