Glass shattering and shouting: video shows a heavy explosive at a Beverwijk home

Video footage shows how serious the explosion was at a home in Beverwijk last Thursday morning. Violently flammable material went off on Vechtstraat, as can be seen from the above camera image, which is in the hands of Bureau NH.

The house on Vechtstraat was badly damaged on Thursday morning, January 4, around a quarter past three in the morning. The front door and windows at the front have been knocked out of the house. The house is also uninhabitable for a long time. “The house is severely damaged, there are cracks in the walls,” the police said.

There were no injuries among the residents (an 82-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman) and those present in the home. “It’s a miracle that none of them were injured,” police said.

Boy runs away

The image above clearly shows a boy standing very close to the explosion. When the material goes off and a loud bang follows, he runs away. From the Vechtstraat the suspect walks along the Drechtstraat in the direction of the Broekpolder district.

“Maybe the suspect has suffered hearing damage”

Police

There was still a search for him, but the police did not find him anywhere. He is dressed completely darkly and may have suffered hearing damage during the explosion because he was so close. “Maybe the boy was indeed injured, think of hearing damage.”

This afternoon at 5:10 PM, the NH police will show additional images of the suspect in the NH Bureau investigation program. “Those additional (ring-door) images may be able to help.”
