Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is the sequel to Knives Out (2019). The first part also brought in good box office results, but so far has not been able to beat the success of the sequel. The reason: The film stands on its own and has no connection to “Knives Out”. except for the fact that Benoit Blanc is investigating again.
209.4 million hours of streaming time
The tally of over 90 million views since the holidays is the basis of the film’s total streaming time of more than 209.4 million hours over a running time of 2.3 hours. These results make the production the third most streamed in Netflix history. Adam McKay’s “Don’t Look Up” (2021) is number one, followed by Rawson Marshall Thurber’s “Red Notice” (2021). If the numbers continue to rise, Johnson’s sequel could possibly climb to the second, or even first podium.
Joining Craig are Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Noah Segan, Ethan Hawke, Dallas Roberts, Jackie Hoffman and Hugh Grant. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is also nominated for Best Picture – Musical/Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards on January 10th.
