RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach are about to reach an agreement in the negotiations for Max Eberl.
“It’s not quite that far anymore, we’re on the home stretch. I hope that we’ll have a final decision in the next few days,” said RB managing director Oliver Mintzlaff before the Bundesliga game in Gladbach on “Sky”.
“We assume that we will reach an agreement,” the 47-year-old continued on Saturday evening. Nothing will happen at the weekend: “I hope that we can make a step forward on Monday.”
According to “kicker” information, Eberl, whose contract in Gladbach has been suspended since his resignation, has already decided to get involved with the DFB Cup winners from the beginning of next year. The two Bundesliga clubs are still negotiating the transfer fee.
Rose criticizes the letter from the Mönchengladbach fan project
Marco Rose, who knows Eberl very well from the time they spent together at Borussia Park, is looking forward to his arrival. “I am pleased that we will work together,” said the RB coach.
At the same time, Rose sharply condemned the criticism of the Mönchengladbach fan project against Eberl. “I would like a certain objectivity to be introduced and not to try to conjure up any crude conspiracy theories that are borderline,” said the 46-year-old.
The fan project had accused Eberl of “acting” in an open letter at the end of his tenure in Gladbach. The long-time sports director announced his resignation in tears and, according to his own statements, mentally exhausted.
