Goalscorer Marcus Thuram from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach will not switch to French first division club OGC Nice.
As the French sports newspaper “L’Équipe” reports, the striker is said to have rejected ex-Gladbach coach Lucien Favre’s club.
Accordingly, Thuram, whose contract with Borussia expires in 2023, has not convinced the sporting perspective on the Côte d’Azur. On August 18th and 25th, Nice is only fighting for a place in the Europa Conference League in the playoffs.
Thuram, whose last cap for world champions France was 14 months ago, is more interested in a move to a Champions League club.
Italy is mentioned as a possible destination for the 25-year-old. Borussia would like to extend the contract with Thuram. The striker has started the season well with four goals in his first two competitive games.
