Thanks to a special permit from the city, the basement duel between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha BSC can take place on Saturday (6:30 p.m.) in front of 34,500 spectators despite increasing corona numbers. This was announced by the five-time German champions on Wednesday.
In accordance with the current Corona Protection Ordinance in North Rhine-Westphalia, special regulations regarding spectator capacity at major events can be passed locally in coordination between the organizers and the authorities.
The club has submitted an application and modified its hygiene and infection protection concept in order to be able to admit more than the 25,000 fans previously approved. The city of Mönchengladbach granted this application. There is a continuous mask requirement in the stadium.
