Just came from Metz this summer
There could still be a lot going on at Borussia Mönchengladbach in the last few days of the transfer window. A buyer is still being sought for Nico Elvedi (26) and for Manu Koné (22) a sale cannot be ruled out if there is a good offer. In order to prepare for the latter case, the “colts” have apparently identified a successor in England.

Boubacar Traoré from Wolverhampton Wanderers stands according to the French “L’Equipe” right at the top of the Bundesliga club’s wish list. The 22-year-old Malian was only signed by FC Metz this summer after being loaned to the Premier League club last year. The reason for this was a purchase obligation of 11 million euros agreed in the summer of 2022.

The defensive midfielder got off to a good start with the Wolves and was a seed at the start of the 2022/23 season before a long-term groin injury kept him out of action for most of the season. This year he has a difficult position behind Mario Lemina (29) and João Gomes (22) – that could increase the chances of a transfer to Gladbach.
In addition, those responsible for both clubs have known each other for the past few weeks. Wolverhampton is considered the favorite to sign Elvedi, even if no agreement has been reached so far. Whether Traoré could be involved in a possible deal is speculation, but is also being discussed by the TM community. “Are they possibly offering us the player as compensation for Elvedi?” Asks Gladbach fan “Honorat9” in the rumor mill. Traoré still has a contract in England until 2027.
