A few years ago, the BZ made sure that Joachimsthaler Straße got its “h” back. Now we would like to take something away from her – namely Joachimsthaler Platz.

This square on Kurfürstendamm, in the heart of City West, will in future bear the name of Harald Juhnke!

Juhnke’s life was the stage, but his home was Berlin. He was a gifted artist, actor, singer, entertainer. Sometimes he was at the bottom, but mostly and always at the top.

There was a time when Juhnke was so popular that the Brandenburg Gate would have been named after him. He was an ambassador for Berlin, in his own way. Because he was like this city. Talented and crazy, changeable and lovable.

Give our great, unforgotten entertainer this worthy place! Harald Juhnke has earned this honor.
